Passing target: 70% (28/40)
On a highway with two lanes in your direction, you drive in the left lane. For the last mile, your car has stayed just behind the left-rear corner of a car in the right lane, at the same speed. What should you do?
A travels in the left of two same-direction lanes, just behind the left rear corner of B in the right lane. The card states that both have kept the same speed for a mile. No blind-area shading or route is shown.
Correct answer: Pass the car or drop back, so that you are out of the area that its driver cannot see.
Why
Every vehicle has blind spots near its rear corners that its mirrors do not show. If you stay there, the other driver can move into your lane without seeing you. Do not go above the speed limit to get past; drop back when you cannot pass legally.
