On I-91 you drive past the exit that you wanted. The exit ramp is now a short distance behind you. What should you do?
A has passed an exit ramp now behind it on the right. It remains in the right interstate travel lane.
Correct answer: Continue to the next exit, leave the interstate there, and find a route back
Why
Traffic on the interstate moves fast, and drivers do not expect a vehicle that stops, backs up or turns across the median. A car that backs on the shoulder can also be hit by a driver who uses the shoulder in an emergency. Plan your route before you leave, and look for exit signs early, so that you can move to the correct lane in time.
