Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You want to park at the curb near an intersection that has a marked crosswalk, and then go into a shop. Where may you park?
A approaches an intersection in its travel lane, well before a marked crosswalk. The card says no parking position has been chosen.
Correct answer: At least 20 feet from the crosswalk
Why
The space near a crosswalk lets drivers and pedestrians see each other before a pedestrian steps into the road. A car that is parked close to the crosswalk can hide a child or a person in a wheelchair. The manual also tells you not to block a crosswalk when you stop in traffic or wait to turn.
