Passing target: 80% (16/20)
You come to a railroad crossing marked with a white X-shaped sign that reads RAILROAD CROSSING. The crossing has two tracks and no gates or lights. A train passes on the near track and moves away. What should you do next?
Blue car A approaches two railroad tracks. A locomotive on the nearer track has cleared the road to the right and is moving away. A white RAILROAD CROSSING crossbuck stands on the right before the tracks; there are no gates or signal lights.
Correct answer: Check again for a train on the other track, then cross when clear
Why
A crossbuck stands at every railroad crossing and shows where the tracks are. A small sign under it can show the number of tracks. Slow down as you come near, look both ways and listen for trains, and never drive around, through or under a closed gate.
