You move to Vermont and register your car here for the first time. The car has a current inspection sticker from another state. When must it get a Vermont inspection?
Correct answer: Within 15 days after you register it, since it has no Vermont inspection sticker.
Why
Vermont requires an inspection of each registered vehicle once a year, and the inspection sticker shows when the next one is due. The annual inspection also checks emission parts such as the catalytic converter, the gas cap and the on-board diagnostic system. A passed inspection does not end your duty to keep the car in good condition between inspections.
