You adjust the driver's seat in a car that has an air bag in the steering wheel. How should you set the seat?
An empty driver seat and steering wheel are shown from the open side of a car.
Correct answer: Far enough back that you are at least 10 inches from the steering wheel
Why
Air bags work with seat belts to keep your head, neck and chest from hitting the steering column or the dashboard. If your steering wheel tilts, point it down toward your chest, not toward your head and neck. Children 12 and younger are safer when they ride buckled up in the back seat.
