You drive on a busy city street. Where should your eyes focus as you look ahead?
A approaches a city block with cars ahead and a pedestrian on the sidewalk.
Correct answer: About one block ahead, while your eyes move from side to side
Why
When you look far ahead, you find risks early and have more time to react. Watch for clues such as brake lights, back-up lights, exhaust smoke and turned wheels, which show that a vehicle can move into your path. Also check your rearview mirror about every 10 seconds. At an intersection, look left, then right, then left again before you drive through.
