The wiper on the driver's side of your car stops working, but the wiper on the passenger side still works. Rain is expected this week. What does Virginia law require?
An interior windshield detail shows the driver-side wiper resting while the passenger-side wiper sweeps. Water remains on the glass directly ahead of the steering wheel. This is a stationary component check.
Correct answer: Have it repaired, because the wipers must clear both sides
Why
You cannot avoid a hazard that you cannot see, and rain on the glass in front of you hides the road ahead. In light rain, use the wipers to improve your view, and keep washer fluid in the car so that the wipers do not smear the glass. When bad weather makes you use the wipers, your headlights must also be on.
