Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Four cars are parallel parked along a two-way city street with a curb. Which car is parked the way Washington law requires?
Correct answer: Right wheels 10 inches from the right-hand curb, facing the same way as traffic
Why
A car far from the curb takes space from the travel lane and from bicyclists. A car that faces oncoming traffic had to cross traffic to park, and it must cross again to leave. After you parallel park, the guide tells you to move forward or back as needed so the car is no more than 12 inches from the curb.
