Freeways & High-Speed RoadsStandalone practice
A freeway HOV lane has the diamond symbol, and its sign says that the lane is for vehicles with 3 or more people at this time. Which vehicle may use the lane now?
Correct answer: A car with the driver and two passengers
Why
HOV lanes carry more people in fewer vehicles. The number of people that a lane needs is on its signs, so read them each time you enter. Motorcycles, buses and vanpools may also use HOV lanes, and a carpool lane is not a passing lane.
