At a four-way stop, a car on your left stops first. You stop next. Then a car on your right stops. All three drivers will go straight. In what order should the cars go?
B on A’s left stopped first. A stopped next; C on A’s right stopped last. The stopped vehicles have no priority highlight or movement path.
Correct answer: The car on your left, then you, then the car on your right
Why
When every approach has a stop sign, drivers take turns in the order in which they stopped. The rule to yield to the vehicle on your right is only for vehicles that arrive at about the same time, and a left-turning driver yields to drivers who go straight or turn right. Before you go, check that no one is already in the intersection, because another driver may not follow the order.
