You adjust the driver's seat before a trip. How far should your chest be from the steering wheel?
An empty driver seat and steering wheel are shown before adjustment. No chest, chosen gap or numerical measure is present.
Correct answer: At least 10 inches, so that the air bag has room to open
Why
An air bag opens very fast, and a driver who sits too close can be badly hurt by it. Adjust the seat so that you can reach the pedals, then set the wheel so that your elbows bend a little. Set the head restraint level with your ears to help prevent whiplash.
