Passing target: 80% (52/65)
You drive toward a red eight-sided STOP sign. No white stop line is painted across your lane, but a marked crosswalk is just before the cross street. Where must you stop?
A approaches a STOP-controlled intersection. A marked crosswalk is ahead and there is no separate stop line. The car is several lengths before the crossing; no stop point is highlighted.
Correct answer: Just before the crosswalk, with your front wheels behind its near line
Why
The STOP sign is the only sign with eight sides, so you can know it by its shape. The stop point is the stop line, or the crosswalk if there is no line, or the edge of the intersection if there is neither. If buildings or parked cars block your view from that point, stop again where you can see the cross traffic. Then yield before you go.
