You are driving your 7-year-old in a car that has a back seat. The adult lap and shoulder belt does not fit the child properly. How must the child ride?
Correct answer: In a proper child safety restraint in the back seat
Why
Wyoming's child restraint law covers children who have not reached their ninth birthday. The child must ride in a proper child safety restraint, installed as the maker directs, in a seat other than the front seat. The front seat is allowed only if the vehicle has one row of seats or all rear belts are used by other children, and a rear-facing infant seat must never face an active air bag. A child may use the adult belt only when it fits properly across the collarbone, chest, and hips.
