Dana has a Wyoming Class C license with no endorsements. Which vehicle may Dana legally drive?
Correct answer: A private pickup truck that tows a 5,000-pound camping trailer
Why
Under current Wyoming law, Class C covers any single vehicle or combination, except a motorcycle, that does not need a CDL. A Class C holder needs a Z endorsement for a vehicle or combination rated 39,001 pounds or more, and a driver under 18 may not drive a vehicle rated 26,001 pounds or more. The 2021 manual still shows the older limit (under 26,001 pounds, with a towed unit of not more than 10,000 pounds), but the current law controls. Heavy vehicles need more skill and distance to stop, so the license must match the vehicle.
