Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
For an ordinary pass of a car at normal traffic speed, you face a solid yellow center line with a broken yellow line on the other side. No exception applies. What does your side indicate?
Blue A and silver B face opposite directions on a two-lane road. The yellow center marking is solid on A’s side and broken on B’s side.
Correct answer: Do not cross the solid line to make this pass.
Why
For this ordinary case, the solid line on your side prohibits passing across it; the broken line applies to opposing traffic. Delaware has specific safe exceptions for obstructions, slower traffic and left turns. Those exceptions still require compliance with sight-distance and location restrictions.
