What does Georgia's implied-consent rule mean for a person arrested on reasonable DUI grounds?
Correct answer: By driving, the person agreed to state chemical testing.
Why
After a qualifying DUI arrest, Georgia’s implied-consent process provides for state-administered chemical testing. Refusing a properly requested test can lead to administrative suspension of the Georgia license or driving privilege for at least one year. After submitting to the required state test, the driver may obtain an additional chemical test at personal expense from qualified personnel of the driver’s choosing.
