Passing target: 15 correct signs and 15 correct rules
You are in the left lane of a one-way street and want to turn left onto a one-way street carrying traffic to your left. No sign prohibits the turn. What may you do at a steady red light?
Two one-way streets meet, with arrows pointing north on the approach and west on the crossing street. A red signal and stop line are visible without a stopped vehicle.
Correct answer: Stop, yield to traffic and pedestrians, then turn.
Why
Georgia allows a left turn on red from the left lane of a one-way street onto another one-way street carrying traffic to the left, unless a posted sign prohibits it. Stop completely, yield to conflicting traffic, stop for pedestrians as required, and turn only when safe. This does not authorize a left turn on red from an ordinary two-way street.
