A blind pedestrian with a white cane tipped with red, or accompanied by a service dog, is crossing your path. What must you do?
Correct answer: Yield the right of way and stop if needed to let the pedestrian cross safely.
Why
Yield to a blind pedestrian carrying a white cane, a white cane with a red tip, or accompanied by a service dog. Stop when needed to give the pedestrian safe passage. Do not assume the person can see your vehicle or your hand signals. The 2026 amendment uses “service dog” in this right-of-way rule.
