Why should a driver avoid cutting closely in front of a large truck?
Passenger car A is ahead of tractor-trailer B in the same lane.
Correct answer: The truck needs much more distance to stop, and the lane change removes that space.
Why
Large trucks need substantial stopping space. After passing, return only when you are safely clear and can see the overtaken vehicle in your interior mirror. Do not cut into the truck’s braking space merely because your car has passed its cab.
