Before moving back into the right lane after passing, what should you verify?
Blue car A is ahead of silver car B after passing on a two-way road. A is temporarily left of the broken yellow centerline; B is in the right-hand lane.
Correct answer: You can see the passed vehicle in your rearview mirror
Why
Check that the passed vehicle is visible in your rearview mirror and that you have safe clearance before signaling and returning right. When a pass uses an opposing travel lane, Idaho requires returning to an authorized lane as soon as practicable and before coming within 200 feet of any approaching vehicle. Do not begin a pass unless it can be completed without interfering with either vehicle.
