School Zones, Railways & Work AreasStandalone practice
Workers are present in a highway construction zone. What should an approaching driver do?
Correct answer: Slow down, yield, move away from workers if safe, and use caution.
Why
Obey the posted work-zone limit, reduce speed further when conditions require, and yield to workers and authorized vehicles. On a highway with at least four lanes and at least two in your direction, move to a lane away from workers if safely possible and slow to a reasonable speed. If you cannot change lanes safely, proceed slowly and cautiously with safe space. Obey a flagger’s stop signal until told to proceed.
