The rear wheels lose traction and the rear of your car slides right. What controlled steering response helps correct this skid?
A blue sedan is yawed slightly toward the upper right on a wet two-way road, with its rear displaced toward the near side.
Correct answer: Gently right, the way the rear is sliding, while easing off the gas.
Why
Ease off the accelerator and steer gently right, in the direction the rear is sliding. Avoid an abrupt opposite turn or too much steering. As traction returns, straighten the vehicle and continue slowly. Follow the correct braking procedure for your vehicle; do not pump an operating ABS.
