Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Before and while backing a vehicle, what should the driver do?
Correct answer: Check behind and in blind spots; back slowly.
Why
Back only when it can be done with reasonable safety and yield to an approaching vehicle that is an immediate hazard. Check all around first, look in the direction of travel and move slowly. A rear camera cannot show every area around the vehicle, so use it together with direct observation and mirrors.
