How long must an Iowa turn signal be given before the turn?
Correct answer: At least 100 feet if the limit is 45 mph or less; 300 feet if above.
Why
Signal continuously for at least the last 100 feet before a turn on a road limited to 45 mph or less. On a road whose limit exceeds 45 mph, signal for at least the last 300 feet. A signal announces intent; it does not give you priority or make an unsafe turn lawful.
