Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You intend to turn right at a junction while a bicyclist beside you is lawfully continuing straight. The turn would cross the cyclist’s path. What should you do?
Blue car A approaches a right turn. Cyclist B is beside A on its right, continuing straight in the bicycle lane. Both face east.
Correct answer: Let the cyclist go by, then turn when it is safe
Why
Do not turn right unless the turn can be made with reasonable safety and without interfering with the bicycle or roller skis proceeding in the same direction. Check beside and behind before turning, and wait for the conflict to clear. Do not squeeze a cyclist against the curb or force a sudden stop.
