Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
Another vehicle is making a lawful, safe pass on your left and gives an audible signal. What should you do?
Correct answer: Give way to the right and do not increase speed until it has completely passed.
Why
When lawfully overtaken on the left, give way to the right on an audible signal and do not increase speed until the other vehicle has completely passed. Keep a predictable course and allow the pass to finish. This is the overtaken driver’s duty, separate from the passing driver’s obligation to choose adequate clear distance.
