Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
May a driver cross left of center to pass near a hillcrest or curve when the view ahead is blocked?
Correct answer: No; wait until you can clearly see the road ahead.
Why
Do not drive left of center to pass when an obstructed hillcrest or curve creates a hazard from opposing traffic. Maryland also restricts left-of-center driving when crossing or within 100 feet of an intersection or railroad crossing, and when the view is obstructed within 100 feet of a bridge, viaduct or tunnel. The statutory one-way-roadway exception does not make this obstructed two-way pass safe.
