Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
The traffic light for your direction flashes yellow. You want to turn left, and an oncoming car is close to the intersection. What should you do?
A approaches a flashing yellow light intending to turn left while oncoming B is close. No turn route or priority mark is shown.
Correct answer: Let the oncoming car go by, then turn when there is a safe gap
Why
A flashing yellow light means go on with caution. Yield to vehicles and pedestrians already in the intersection, and when you turn left or make a U-turn, yield to oncoming vehicles that are close enough to be a hazard. Wait for a gap that lets you finish the turn without making the oncoming driver brake.
