Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
You are driving on a two-lane state highway identified by letters, such as Route KK. No speed limit sign is posted. What is the maximum speed?
Correct answer: 55 mph
Why
Lettered state roads are often narrow, hilly and winding, with farm entrances and little shoulder, so the law sets them below the 60 mph limit for other rural roads. MoDOT may post a higher limit on some of them, but never above 60 mph. Choose a lower speed when curves, hills or slow farm vehicles limit how far ahead you can see.
