Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
The posted speed limit is 55 mph. You come to a stretch of hills and curves, the pavement is wet, and you can see only a short way ahead. What speed should you drive?
Correct answer: Below 55 mph, at a speed that is safe for the conditions
Why
The guide lists hills, curves, slippery roads, limited sight distance, pedestrians, bicyclists and slow vehicles as reasons to drive below the posted limit. Section 304.012, RSMo, requires every driver to use the highest degree of care and a speed that does not endanger people or property. Driving too fast for conditions can break this law even when you are under the posted limit.
