Your car has anti-lock brakes (ABS). The vehicle ahead stops suddenly, and you must stop as fast as possible. How should you brake?
Correct answer: Press the brake pedal hard and keep pressing, even if it pushes back.
Why
ABS keeps the wheels from locking, so you can steer while braking hard. Without ABS, brake as hard as you can without locking the wheels; if they lock, let up and then press again. Read the owner's manual so you know which system your car has.
