Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You plan to turn right at the next corner. A marked bicycle lane runs along the curb on your right, and a bicyclist in that lane is coming up beside your car. What should you do?
A approaches a right turn while a bicyclist continues beside it in the bicycle lane along the right curb.
Correct answer: Let the bicyclist go by first, then check again and turn behind
Why
Under Montana law a bicycle is a vehicle, and its rider has the same rights and duties as other drivers. Motorists must yield to a person riding in a designated bicycle lane and may not intentionally interfere with a lawful rider. When a bicyclist is beside you and you want to turn right, make sure the rider has stopped to let you turn, or let the rider go first.
