Intersections & Right-of-WayStandalone practice
You reach an intersection where the traffic lights are completely dark because of a power failure. No officer is directing traffic. What should you do?
A and other cars approach an intersection whose traffic signals are dark.
Correct answer: Stop as at an all-way stop, then go in turn when it is safe.
Why
You must make this stop unless a police officer, a highway patrol officer or a working signal directs you. The manual adds that the driver who stops first should go first, but you must still check that it is safe. Watch for other drivers who do not stop at the dark signal.
