You approach a single-lane roundabout. A pedestrian is crossing the crosswalk on your approach, and a car in the circle is coming from your left. What should you do?
A approaches a single-lane roundabout where a pedestrian occupies the entry crosswalk. B is circulating toward the entry from A’s left.
Correct answer: Yield to the pedestrian and the car in the circle, then enter at a safe gap.
Why
Look to the left as you approach, and slow to 15 mph or less. Once you are in the circle, keep to the right of the center island and do not stop when the way is clear. In a single-lane roundabout, never pass another vehicle.
