Passing target: 80% (24/30)
Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
You drive a slow camper on a two-lane highway where passing is unsafe. Four vehicles are now lined up behind you. What must you do?
Correct answer: Turn off at the nearest safe turnout and let the vehicles pass.
Why
Montana law also says that a driver may not go so slowly that normal traffic is blocked, unless the lower speed is needed for safety or by law. If the shoulder is wide enough and in good condition, the slow driver may instead drive on it at a safe speed until passed. A long line behind a slow vehicle invites unsafe passing, so letting traffic go makes the road safer.
