Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You parallel park on a two-way street that has a curb. What is the farthest your right-side wheels may be from the curb?
Blue car A is parked parallel to the right curb on a two-way street. Its right-side wheels are close to the curb.
Correct answer: 18 inches
Why
A vehicle parked on a two-way street must sit parallel to the curb with its right wheels no more than 18 inches from it; with no curb, pull as close as practicable to the right edge of the shoulder. Parking close keeps your vehicle out of the path of passing cars and bicyclists. On a one-way street you may park along either curb, again within 18 inches.
