Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Each spot below is on a street with no parking signs or painted curbs. Which spot is legal?
Correct answer: 25 feet from the crosswalk at an uncontrolled intersection
Why
Montana's no-parking distances keep sight lines and emergency routes open. Stay at least 20 feet from a crosswalk at an intersection, 30 feet from a stop sign, yield sign, or signal on your approach, and 50 feet from the nearest rail of a railroad crossing; never park on a bridge, in a tunnel, or in an intersection. Cars parked too close to these places hide pedestrians, signs, and trains from other drivers.
