Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing uphill on a street with a curb. Which way should you turn the front wheels?
A is parked facing uphill beside a curb. The slope direction is identified in the scene.
Correct answer: Sharply away from the curb
Why
Facing uphill next to a curb, turn the wheels away from the curb so the curb catches the car if it rolls back. With no curb, turn the wheels toward the side of the road, away from the street, so a rolling car would leave the roadway instead of entering traffic. The wheel position is a backup; always set the parking brake too.
