Passing target: 80% (20/25)
The weather is clear on a two-lane highway with a 65 mph limit. You are driving 35 mph for no special reason, and a long line of cars has formed behind you. Is this lawful?
Correct answer: No. Unless safety or the law calls for it, you may not drive so slowly that you hold up traffic.
Why
A vehicle that moves much slower than other traffic causes sudden braking, long lines and risky passing behind it. The manual advises you to drive at about the same speed as the main flow of traffic, within the limit, and to keep to the right when you are slower than other traffic. A lower speed is lawful when weather, visibility, road or traffic conditions make it necessary.
