Your turn signal lamps have stopped working, and you must turn left. Which hand-and-arm signal do you give?
Three numbered views show a driver’s left arm extended straight, bent upward or bent downward outside a window.
Correct answer: Left arm out of the window, held straight out to the side.
Why
Nebraska uses three hand-and-arm signals, all given with the left arm from the driver's window: straight out for a left turn, up for a right turn, and down to stop or slow. Give the hand signal for at least the last 100 feet, as with signal lamps. If other drivers cannot see your arm for 100 feet to the front and to the rear, the law requires signal lamps instead.
