You are passing a tractor-trailer on the interstate. When is it safe to move back into the lane in front of the truck?
A is in the left interstate lane alongside the front portion of tractor-trailer B in the right lane.
Correct answer: When you can see the whole front of the truck in your rearview mirror
Why
The area just in front of a truck or bus is a No-Zone, and cutting in too soon is one of the most common passing mistakes. A truck needs much more distance to stop than a car, and its air brakes do not work instantly. After you move in, keep your speed and do not slow down suddenly in front of the truck.
