Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You pass a white rectangular sign that reads SPEED LIMIT 45. What does the number 45 tell you?

Correct answer: The highest speed you may lawfully drive there, in miles per hour
Why
The posted limit is the top speed for good conditions. Nebraska's basic speed law still requires a lower speed when rain, traffic, curves or other hazards make the limit unsafe. Where no limit is posted, state law sets default limits, such as 25 mph in residential districts. White rectangular signs state rules, and yellow signs give warnings.
