Vehicle Safety, Documents & TowingStandalone practice
Your car has front air bags. Your adult passenger in the front seat does not want to buckle up and likes to sit close to the dashboard. What is the best advice?
Correct answer: Buckle up and move the seat back, because an air bag opens with great force.
Why
An air bag inflates very fast and with great force, so it can injure a person who is unbuckled or seated too close to it, even in a minor collision or a sudden stop. For the same reason, the handbook tells older children who must ride in front to move the vehicle seat as far back as possible. Nevada law also requires every front-seat passenger who is 6 or older to wear a belt.
