Your car has automatic emergency braking. You are in stop-and-go traffic on a busy road. How should you drive?
Correct answer: Brake yourself and keep a safe gap, because the system acts only if you do not.
Why
Automatic emergency braking senses slow or stopped traffic or objects ahead and brakes hard if the driver does not react. It can prevent a crash or make it less severe, but it does not replace scanning ahead and leaving space. Nevada law also forbids following another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent.
