Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing downhill on a street with a curb. Which way should you turn your front wheels?
Blue A is parked facing downhill beside a curb on the right. A small side-profile line shows the road grade.
Correct answer: Toward the curb, then set the parking brake.
Why
The goal of hill parking is simple: if the car starts to roll, it must go into the curb or away from traffic. Nevada law also requires you to stop the engine and set the brake when you leave a car on a grade. Downhill with no curb, turn the wheels toward the road shoulder.
