You drive on a 45 mph road and come up behind a moped. What should you plan for?
Correct answer: It goes no faster than about 30 mph, so you should slow early and give it room like a motorcycle.
Why
Moped riders are small, easy to miss and have little protection in a crash. Leave extra following distance, check for them before you turn or change lanes, and watch for wind or rough pavement that can push a light moped off its line. Pass only when you can move fully into another lane.
