Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You are passing a large truck on a freeway. When is it safe to move back into the truck's lane in front of it?
A is alongside truck B in the left freeway lane, partway through passing. No return path is drawn.
Correct answer: When you see the whole front of the truck in your rearview mirror, and then you keep your speed.
Why
The area just in front of a large truck is a no-zone. If you cut in too soon and then slow down, the truck driver may have to slam on the brakes, and a truck needs about twice the distance of a car to stop. Pass steadily, and do not stay beside the truck, where the driver may not see you.
