Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
At an intersection, a white square sign shows a black arrow that turns left, with a red circle and a diagonal red slash over it. What does the sign mean?

Correct answer: You may not turn left at this intersection
Why
Red on a regulatory sign means no or do not. The same circle and slash are used on NO RIGHT TURN, NO U-TURN, and other prohibition signs, so learn the pattern once. A plaque under the sign can limit the ban to certain hours; if there is no plaque, the ban applies at all times. Go straight or turn another way, and use a different route to reach your destination.
