Passing target: 80% (32/40)
On a rural road, you come to a narrow bridge that only one vehicle can cross at a time. An oncoming car reaches the far end of the bridge just before you reach your end. What should you do?
A and oncoming car B approach opposite ends of a bridge with room for only one vehicle. The card states that B reached its end first.
Correct answer: Stop and let the oncoming car cross first, because it reached the bridge first.
Why
Rural roads often have narrow bridges, gravel surfaces and blind corners, and warning signs may mark a one-lane bridge ahead. Slow down early so you can stop before the bridge if another vehicle is already crossing. Open steel grating on some bridges also reduces traction, so keep a firm grip and extra following distance.
